Finnish Bon Games Ltd receives 1,4 million dollars in funding
November 6, 2017
Publishing its first game in cooperation with Fingersoft Ltd
Bon Games has raised USD 1.4 million in seed funding. The investment round attracted Finnish investors such as Polkuni Ltd and Nurmiranta Holdings Ltd. The company’s first game, Transit King, will be published in cooperation with Fingersoft.
Transit King is arriving to the Apple and Google mobile app stores worldwide on November 16th, 2017. Bon Games is publishing the game in cooperation with Fingersoft from Oulu, known for its Hill Climb Racing games that have been downloaded hundreds of millions of times. Transit King has been available on test markets from spring 2017 onwards, and the results have been promising.
Transit King is a tycoon game about transporting different raw materials to refinery plants and further to cities. The goal is to create a transport network that is as large and efficient as possible, and to make the player the owner of the world’s largest logistics empire.
“We saw that the tycoon and simulation genres offer opportunities for new ideas. Players of many old classics (such as Transport Tycoon and Railroad Tycoon) are having a hard time finding anything that pleases them on the mobile simulation market. We are focusing on this and aiming to build the world’s best studio focusing on tycoon games”, says CEO Ilkka Immonen from Bon Games.
Bon Games and Fingersoft were quick to reach an agreement in their negotiations last spring. According to CEO Teemu Närhi from Fingersoft, “the mobile market has long had a hole that Transit King will perfectly fill. The game’s target audience and needs have been carefully thought through. To us, it was clear that we wanted to join Bon Games Oy in conquering the worldwide tycoon game market”.
